Sometimes you need a PDF page as an image, not a document: to post it in a chat, drop it into a slide, or send it to someone who won't open a PDF on their phone. Converting to JPG gives you one image per page in a couple of seconds.

JPG or PNG for this page?
The two formats suit different content. JPG uses compression tuned for photographs, so photo-heavy pages become small files that are easy to share. The trade-off is that JPG can soften the edges of small text and thin lines. If your page is mostly text, a diagram, or a screenshot, PNG keeps those edges crisp (and supports transparency).
When you shouldn't convert to an image at all
An image of a page looks the same but the text inside is no longer selectable or searchable. If your goal is to edit the wording or copy text out, don't flatten it to JPG. Convert to Word or Markdown instead so the text stays live.
